GRANT FOR RESEARCH OR INTERNSHIP IN THE DANISH IMMIGRANT MUSEUM AND THE DANISH IMMIGRANT ARCHIVES
The Society announces the Edith and Arnold N. Bodtker Grant for Research or Internship in the Danish Immigrant Archives at Dana College and Grand View College and at The Danish Immigrant Museum, or for North American students, possibly in Denmark. The grant of up to $3,000 is for applicants from Denmark, Canada, or the United States. Applicants may also apply for a partial housing grant while working at the Danish Immigrant Archive-Dana College, Blair, Nebraska, the Danish Immigrant Archive - Grand View College, or The Danish Immigrant Museum in Elk Horn, Iowa.
Applicants must be currently enrolled at or graduated from a university-level institution. They must have a well-defined research or internship project that makes a stay in the USA (for Danish or North American students) or in Denmark (for North American students) essential.
Projects should be planned for a three- to four-month period of residence in the USA or in Denmark, during the next calendar year. Normally, the time of residence should conform to the academic year and comprise one of these periods: February-May or September-December. Proposals for residence in June-August will also be considered.
The deadline is 1 October each year. Complete applications and all supporting materials must reach
Dr. James D. Iversen, President Danish American Heritage Society 4105 Stone Brooke Road Ames Iowa 50010 USA
by this date. The results of the competition will be announced by 20 October each year.
